Georgina's Illusions, a Missouri Star Quilt Company pattern.
Our January meeting was an afternoon meeting and it was very well attended. Winters in Nova Scotia can be so varied so it was decided to have a couple of daytime meetings to make getting there a bit easier for our members. our next daytime meeting will be March 6 at 1pm, February 6 will be an evening meeting.
Once again we had a wonderful show and tell and a terrific program. Thanks to all members, new and old, who contiue to share their beautiful quilts and projects.
Debbie's quilt for her grandson Elliot who loves the ocean!
Brenda's Scrappy Star quilt from Linda M's workshop. So great to see another quilt from this workshop completed. See more pictures on our Flickr page here.
At the meeting our President, Christine, talked about all the volunteers we are going to need in the next few months. Our Guild runs on volunteers and we always need more. We need to plan ahead for our 2018 quilt show, we need volunteers to help with the Dessert Party in late April, Cuddle Quilt Day will be held March 18 this year with the 25th as a snow day. We need quilt tops and finished quilts from tiny quilts for premature babies to full sized quilts. It is a wonderful day and we need all levels of quilters and sewers to come and help.
We were pleased to announce our Extraordinary Quilter for this year is Krista Hennebury from Vancouver. You can read about her on her blog at Poppyprint. Krista can also be found on Instagram and Facebook. Our Dessert Party will be on Wednesday April 26, tickets will be available at our march meeting. Workshops will be on April 27, 28 and 29, details will be out in our newsletter soon.
We have workshops coming up with Kathy Tidswell and Anna Davison, check our workshop link on the right hand sidebar for détails. It is going to be a busy winter and spring!
